Tom Soltesz is a California Plein-Air painter whose fresh colors and spontaneous brushstrokes capture the spirit of the Golden State in her glory. The artist spends most of his time painting outdoors, observing the changing light and capturing it in oil for his collectors.

Soltesz studied at the Colorado Institute of Art in the early seventies, later his career in graphic design took him to Manila, Hong Kong, Thailand, Japan, Australia and New Guinea. He returned to the U.S. in 1982 and majored in Fine Art and illustration at the Academy of Art College in San Francisco.

Soltesz is a member of the California Art Club and has won numerous awards in Plein Air competitions throughout the state. The artist’s work is collected by The San Jose Sharks, Maria Shriver, Arnold Palmer, and the Borel Bank. He is listed in the Library of Congress as a “Living Legend of California.”
